Power of Community Film Series Curated by Eric Rogers.
Wednesdays Dec. 15, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, and Mar. 23 at 7:00 PM
The films we will screen together this year highlight the power and resilience of strong communities.
The series includes: Remember the Titans (2000) – A newly appointed African-American coach and his high school team confront racism and come together to form a mixed-race football team.
Freedom Writers (2007) – A young teacher inspires her class of at-risk students to learn tolerance, build community, and pursue education beyond high school.
Young@Heart (2007) – Documents the true story of the final weeks of rehearsal for their chorus in Northampton, MA, whose average age is 81, and many of whom must overcome health adversities.
Dream Horse (2020) – An unlikely race horse bred by a small-town Welsh bartender with no experience convinces her neighbors to help raise the horse in the hopes he can compete with the racing elites.
